Poem 57 : Flowing River

 Flowing River
                            - T ABRAHAM

Just as the streams flows,

Just as the river flows,

Flows with calm waves,

So does my thoughts flow,

Flows like the waves of a calm sea,

My heart is light and flowery,

My mind is full of thoughts,

Thoughts of happiness, joy and bliss,

The uncontaminated river,

No wastes dumped,

A clear mind and a clear heart,

Thoughts flow like the freshwater in these rivers,

The water is clear and clean,

The life is there and so is my life,

The river is deep,

Many hidden secrets are there,

To bring joy, happiness and peace,

Where no disappointment is caused,

The flaw is checked,

There is a turbulence,

Turbulence and contamination by negatives,

Influenced by worldly pleasures,

No more does the flow changes,

The flaw is found out,

No influence is allowed anymore,

My mind is now concrete,

No more can the pace change,

The mind is like the flowing river,

Keeps pace with no contamination.

After about a week joining at Madras Christian College (Autonomous) for pursuing my undergraduate course in B.A English Language and Literature under the aided stream I had my first visit to my college library named as 'Miller Memorial Library'. Since, it was my first time I just took a random book from the 'English' section and read it. Then, whenever I had my free hours I started to have regular visits to the library. Till the end of my 1st semester I used to go either to the 'English'or 'Philosophy' section to read. Then, from my 2nd semester onwards I started to use Reading Hall 1 as our syllabus started to have poetry, prose, drama and fiction as I had my own books to read. I felt that my college's library is one among the places that is really good for people who want to use their time productively especially for the arts students.
