The Blessed Land

Location of the past,

Destiny of the future,

Land of present wealth,

Blessed by the brilliant light.

Brown as the soil,

Golden as the oil,

Black as the pepper,

Redness of the chili,

Strong presence of turmeric,

Breeze by the coconut trees,

The Palmyra trees of sweetness,

Blessed black and brown races,

And faces of the world,

In the land of richness,

Dwelling in this beauty,

A beauty of nature,

Sculpted by the creator.

After about a week joining at Madras Christian College (Autonomous) for pursuing my undergraduate course in B.A English Language and Literature under the aided stream I had my first visit to my college library named as 'Miller Memorial Library'. Since, it was my first time I just took a random book from the 'English' section and read it. Then, whenever I had my free hours I started to have regular visits to the library. Till the end of my 1st semester I used to go either to the 'English'or 'Philosophy' section to read. Then, from my 2nd semester onwards I started to use Reading Hall 1 as our syllabus started to have poetry, prose, drama and fiction as I had my own books to read. I felt that my college's library is one among the places that is really good for people who want to use their time productively especially for the arts students.
