You are not there,

Not present at my immediate left,

Not there at the right,

But distance can move us away,

Physical rocks and soil can separate us,

But my heart is merged in yours,

And my mind too,

The heart and the mind's union is enough,

My friend,

I like you more than everything,

You are an old friend,

But you are my gold,

As we know, old is gold,

And so are you,

The new versions are visible,

But I want you,

Your heart and mind is with me,

And so does mine,

The time goes by,

The seasons pass by,

But nothing can separate us,

None equals you,

New is just silver,

But you are my gold,

It is always true,

True friends are far away,

My heart is aching to see you,

Let this physical barrier move away,

We don't have any mental barrier,

So does this distance moves away,

But I wish,

I were with you,

I wish you liked the same things,

But our tastes differed,

I wished,

I were with you,

Everyday during class,

Everywhere we can go,

But it's true,

We are distant,

And it is a distance,

A distance always present to separate us.
