 World of Rush

'Welcome back to the next day',

Says the world of rush,

A world with deadlines,

Deadlines in a few hours and minutes,

Where multitasking is must,

Or else you won't be first,

First to complete the project,

Early enough for work,

Early enough for prayer,

Early enough for class.

The world wants people to rush,

Rush to get recognition,

Rush to avoid problems,

Rush to avoid punishments.

When will I take rest ?

Rush always,

Take rest in a hurry,

Less time for your health and family,

Less time for relaxation,

What happens at last ?

A break in the relationship,

A break in the family,

A death that silences the rush,

The breakdown of health,

The consequence of the rush,

There tells my body,

Goodbye to the world of rush,

There ends the rush.

After about a week joining at Madras Christian College (Autonomous) for pursuing my undergraduate course in B.A English Language and Literature under the aided stream I had my first visit to my college library named as 'Miller Memorial Library'. Since, it was my first time I just took a random book from the 'English' section and read it. Then, whenever I had my free hours I started to have regular visits to the library. Till the end of my 1st semester I used to go either to the 'English'or 'Philosophy' section to read. Then, from my 2nd semester onwards I started to use Reading Hall 1 as our syllabus started to have poetry, prose, drama and fiction as I had my own books to read. I felt that my college's library is one among the places that is really good for people who want to use their time productively especially for the arts students.
