Prose 35 : A Slow Intoxication
A Slow Intoxication - T ABRAHAM
One can use his potential to spend his time productively everyday and it is good for every human being to keep functioning to produce a productive outcome. Sometimes we may feel like coming out of our daily routine and keep our mind empty. An empty mind is always in a threat, and might also become a place for toxic thoughts to dwell in. Here, we are going to ponder upon how idleness can act as a slow poison inside one's mind to intoxicate him.
When we are busy and are being packed up with a lot of productive activities our mind keeps functioning and it is active and energetic. Sometimes we may feel we are draining out all our potential and energy to achieve the best but it might escalate as well. It is always good to have some small breaks during reading, writing, learning and work as it would help us get recharged with the required power to complete our tasks with a cheerful and positive attitude.
It is also common that people do not feel stressed out, anxious nor nervous except when there is a crisis and some pressure driving them. These usually happen when one follows an improper time management, overuse of the electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, television, etc., which causes a lots of trouble during the time when one has to complete his work under a stipulated time period. When one is unable to relieve himself from these addictions and distractions it results in many losses happening and also one becomes more vulnerable towards the evil forces present in his surroundings.
When one is at a time of crisis the evil forces may easily get in contact with the individual and may make way for a regression. There are more chances for one to get deceived easily and to break apart from one's daily routine and also loosing a lots of gifts that were rewarded by the Almighty. During this period of crisis caused due to one's own actions and habits, it is also common that goodness might seem stale and we might ignore it. Finally, one stops all his work and remains idle and stops using his potential.
The period during which one remains idle is a stage of slow intoxication. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop' as it is rightly said, comes into action. The mind is slowly intoxicated with evil thoughts which triggers ill actions and foul attitude to grow inside one. One becomes pale and also very weary about the worldly life in their idleness. There comes a point when one does not even think about his needs and rather than having a temporary pause might break apart from everything in his life and becomes a victim of nothingness filling his life.
But there is always a light amidst the darkness and one can be saved from these damnable situation only by the grace and mercy of our loving heavenly father who watches over all these miseries. These happens only due to the intoxication by idleness and one can avoid it beforehand by one's own actions. If only, God wants to make him take a U-turn from all the places he broke apart from it is because he has done something in the past that might mend his destructive path to turn unto the path of construction again.
Hence, one can stop intoxication by idleness by getting less stressed and pressurized. This can be done only when we figure out the toxic time wasters present in our lives and to root them out from our path as soon as possible before any large scale destruction and regression starts happening in one's life.
