 A Non-Living Companion

I can carry you on my back,

You help me carry the best,

A speechless and noiseless thing,

But you contain many things,

I like to lay you on the table,

Your companionship is needed,

You sit by my side, wherever I go,

I can buy you, mend you and sustain you,

You sustain what I carry in you,

Bearing the bearable quantity,

You are a non-living entity.
