Poem 106 - The Gold and The Almighty

 The Gold and The Almighty
                                     - T ABRAHAM

The Holy Bible, New International Version

I was tempted by these metals once,

By the Gold and Silver,

These precious metals of earth,

But not so precious as my Lord,

It was catching my sight,

Took a few and stored it inside,

The anger of the Almighty was burning,

It was bringing misfortunes indeed,

The citizens were doubting,

I was caught red-handed,

Almighty burned me down,

With me and my possessions,

The misfortunes all went away,

Even I went away with the ashes,

My soul flied away like the blue birds.
