 I am Learning

Do we learn anything ?

Do we learn something ?

All learning is happening,

Just as I breathe,

I learn something,

I think and perceive,

I intake the knowledge,

Whenever my eyes blink,

I learn something,

Each blink is capturing something,

I am learning something,

Do I learn anything ?

I read and read,

Words pass on my eyes,

Noise strikes my ears,

But did I learn anything ?

Learning something from nothing,

I am learning nothing from something,

I learn and learn,

I don't need everything,

I am learning like a deer,

I am running and running,

Running among the pages,

Racing amongst words,

I unlearn to remove some,

I removed everything,

It was like a morning,

After the hurricane,

Everything seems broken,

But I am relearning,

I am relearning like a tortoise,

I will win the race,

I am moving step by step,

I am learning from everything,

I learn from my mistakes.

After about a week joining at Madras Christian College (Autonomous) for pursuing my undergraduate course in B.A English Language and Literature under the aided stream I had my first visit to my college library named as 'Miller Memorial Library'. Since, it was my first time I just took a random book from the 'English' section and read it. Then, whenever I had my free hours I started to have regular visits to the library. Till the end of my 1st semester I used to go either to the 'English'or 'Philosophy' section to read. Then, from my 2nd semester onwards I started to use Reading Hall 1 as our syllabus started to have poetry, prose, drama and fiction as I had my own books to read. I felt that my college's library is one among the places that is really good for people who want to use their time productively especially for the arts students.
